Maria's father is a fictional character in the Hey Arnold! TV Series.
He greets Arnold and Gerald when they come to take Maria and Connie to a sixth grade dance. He offers them nuts and comments on how they're a bit short to be sixth graders. They blame their height on refusing to eat their vegetables.
