Ms. Perfect is an episode in the Hey Arnold! TV Series.

In the episode, Lila Sawyer is introduced into the series as a new student of P.S. 118.

Summary

A new student is transferred to the class — Lila Sawyer. At first, Helga and the other girls think that she is just a simple girl from the country and want her "to see how the cat jumps". But soon they realize that they have underestimated Lila. She knows answers to questions that usually only Phoebe knows, she is dressed as fashion taste is as good as Rhonda — she has even made her outfit herself — and despite Helga's advice she becomes friends with the lunch lady which gets her an extra dessert. All that makes the girls very jealous.

So they decide to teach her a lesson. However, the prank with the kiwi jello backfires and Helga gets beaten up by Big Patty. Their second idea with the rubbered lunch meat, pickle juice, and the wax apple doesn't work well either and Helga gets only more beatings from Patty. So the girls plan one last big prank. That one finally works and Lila runs home, covered with old spinach, fish bones and tears, absolutely humiliated.

When Lila doesn't come to school the next day, Helga offers to bring her the homework assignment. After school the girls go to Lila's house together. They are surprised to see that Lila is living at a rather shabby place. When they watch Lila and her father through the window and see her crying and hear that she and her father have a limited food supply until he gets a job, they eventually feel guilty and apologize to her. The next day, she's back at school and all the girls accept her.

Trivia

  • This is the only story in the first four seasons where Arnold doesn't say anything.

  • Though all the girls including Helga become friends with Lila in this episode, Helga still can't stand Lila especially when she's with Arnold.
  • This could be a partial reference to the movie, Mean Girls.
  • Everyone in the group has something against Lila (Phoebe with being the smart one, Ronda the fashionable one, and Helga being the Leader of things) except for Nadine and Sheena.
  • Sheena has an aversion to violence, but yet is perfectly fine helping Helga and the rest of the girls get their revenge.
  • We learn in this episode that Lila doesn't like pickles.
