It starts at P.S. 118, in the Cafeteria, Rhonda was talking to Stinky Peterson, Sid, Nadine, Harold Berman and Helga G. Pataki she is talking about her father "she need a scarf when they go to Aspen anyway.". Her father brought the expensive one. Stinky took a feel of the scarf "soft as a lop-eared bunny rabbit.". Rhonda told Stinky it is out of rabbit, it came from a very exclusive uptown salon, including Aspen as almost exclusive, asking that to Peapod Kid, which he agreed, Helga gets annoyed by replying "Yeah, exclusively yuppies and snobs.", which Rhonda get smarty her by replay back saying "Brown-Bagger." which Stinky, Harold, Sid and Nadine first look at their sandwich bags then look at each other.

Rhonda also adopts the same arrogant attitude with Stinky at the bus and Nadine in the rest room, while making fun of the higher price the former can't afford, and saying the latter she wears always the same shoes.

Gerald remarks that everybody is different, and that Rhonda is lucky to be rich. As Rhonda goes home, she realizes that her parents went bankrupt due to bad investments they made. As a result, they are broke and must temporarily sell their home.

Fortunately for them, they found another place to live: the Sunset Arms. Rhonda has a very hard time, at first, with Mr. Hyunh being sick and trying to talk to her, Ernie who is the last to take a shower and leaves some of his hair in the bathroom and even Oskar who steals food and eats it, before hiding in a bed and the window in their room views a brick wall.

When Phil tells them that Pookie is the main girl at the Sunset Arms, Rhonda faints. Arnold later enters and said he got the news by Phil, that the Lloyd would live for a brief time here. At first, Rhonda denies it but then relents and makes Arnold promise he won't tell anything, which he agrees.

However, at school, Rhonda must justify herself as she has now a scruffy appearance, and her line is disconnected. She makes excuse to prove the others are wrong and Arnold pretends to agree with her. But one day, Sid notices Rhonda in the thrashes and she admits she is poor.

At dinner, Ernie offers Buckley a job in demolition building. As Rhonda later confesses to Arnold, she says she hates this place, and she wants to be rich again. Arnold snaps and tell Rhonda that she was the same person while she was rich and will be the same now, except if being rich mean to have only money. This makes Rhonda think about this.

Rhonda then begins to create her own clothes; she even prepares her own healthy lunch and goes home on foot. Then, her parents show up in the family's car and she learns that their investments are now better and that they're rich again. Rhonda thanks Arnold and gives him a tip, as the other boy follow her, and he goes to the opposite direction, ending this episode.
