Cultural References[]

  • The mechanic who is set to fix Miriam's car is based off of the main character Karl from the 1996 movie Sling Blade, who was also mechanically inclined. The character is played by the director and screenwriter of the film, Billy Bob Thornton.
  • In the diner, in the background, there are many license plates. One of them says 28IF which is a reference to the cover of The Beatles' album, Abbey Road.
