Credits
  • When Gerald gives his speech on the street, Monkeyman is one of the people listening to it.
  • The woman in a green dress listening to Gerald's speech also appeared in "Haunted Train".
  • We learn that the radio station, MJZZ, is transmitting around the 900AM frequency.
  • This is the first time Grandpa is referred to by his first name, Phil.
  • Gerald yells at the neighbors from the top of the boarding house, ordering them to turn out their lights. When the neighbors yell back, a voice (sounding similar to Harvey, the mailman) says, "I'll show you lights, buddy!" and throws a tomato at Gerald.
  • According to Grandpa, Hawk Mountain was where he flew his first kite, where he had his first kiss, and where he broke every bone in his body falling off from it.
  • Grandpa executes an illegal U-turn when he turns around to head back from the highway toward Hawk Mountain; he runs over the median and into the other section of traffic.
  • Similar to Gerald's catch phrase "you're a bold kid", Nashville Ned tells Arnold and Gerald "you're bold cats, brother".

Cultural References[]

  • Sally's Comet is an obvious parody of the real-life Halley's Comet, which passes by Earth every 75 or so years.
  • Hawk Mountain, the first place Arnold, Grandpa and Gerald try to see Sally's Comet, is actually a real place near Allentown, Pennsylvania.
  • The clocktower "Big Barney" is a reference to London's clocktower "Big Ben".
