Clay Short - The Arnold Waltz

Clay Short - The Arnold Waltz

The Arnold Waltz is a short claymation film made by Craig Bartlett in 1990.

In concert band practice at school, Arnold (on flute) seated between Harold (on sax) and Helga (on sousaphone) daydreams during the playing of Émile Waldteufel's Les Patineurs - known colloquially as The Skaters' Waltz.

  • The music track was produced from a performance of the Ainsworth School band recorded by Homer Groening (Lisa Bartlett's dad) in 1965.
  • Rhonda first appears in this short. She is shown wearing a blue shirt and having brown hair instead of black, this design would be used in the pilot before being changed for the main series.
